PENNSYLVANIA CRUSHERS

Another company under the TerraSource Global umbrella is Pennsylvania Crusher. Today, more than 75% of coal-fired power plants in the United States operate with equipment manufactured by Pennsylvania Crusher. In over 79 countries worldwide, Pennsylvania Crusher equipment is used for size reduction and processing of a wide range of materials.
Founded in 1905 and specializing in the design and manufacture of crushing equipment, Pennsylvania Crusher has, since its establishment, focused on providing flawless solutions to its customers’ crushing challenges through state-of-the-art technology, top-quality equipment, and unmatched service.
These machines are manufactured in a wide range of sizes and configurations to meet specific customer requirements. In addition, the company also produces a patented positive displacement feeder group as part of its product line.
The most recognized product of Pennsylvania Crusher, especially in cases where control over cost per ton and product size is critical, is the patented COALPACTOR coal crusher. In the power generation industry—and particularly in fluidized bed power plants—COALPACTOR crushers are widely used at hundreds of plants worldwide thanks to their ability to produce the ideal particle size for this process. The advantages of COALPACTOR crushers over competitors include: Operating at the lowest cost per ton compared to alternatives, requiring significantly less power consumption per ton, and providing greater control over product particle size while minimizing fines production. Even in applications with high-moisture content materials, they maintain capacity and crushing efficiency without loss. Non-crushable waste materials that cannot pass through the crusher cause less damage, and the hammers of COALPACTOR crushers last significantly longer than those of traditional grizzly-type hammer mills.
Another piece of equipment frequently used by Pennsylvania Crusher in coal mines is the FROZEN COAL CRACKER, designed to break down and reduce the size of clumped and frozen coal. It is especially employed in cold regions at the point where coal, transported by truck, is dumped into the crushing and screening circuit. Thanks to this equipment, the fed coal is reduced to a size of 6”–8” before entering the conveyor system. With the use of this equipment, the coal fed into the system is quickly reduced to the proper feed size range, trucks or railcars can be unloaded more rapidly, losses caused by delays are minimized, potential damage to the conveyor system from oversized or frozen material is prevented, and blockages in feed chutes are eliminated.
Another product group manufactured by Pennsylvania Crusher is the TKK Koal-King Granulator. It is used for crushing coal, gypsum, limestone, and similar materials in power plants, mines, and cement plants. TKK granulators minimize fines production and can easily process wet or dirty material. They achieve the most efficient crushing of mixtures containing rocks and stones of varying hardness.
When it is necessary to reduce extremely hard and abrasive materials efficiently, jaw crushers manufactured by Pennsylvania Crusher are often used. In jaw crushers, material is crushed by being compressed between two well-aligned surfaces, called “jaws.” Pennsylvania Crusher’s jaw crushers are double-toggle crushers, which are more efficient than single-toggle crushers. They produce less fines, and since the jaw does not lift, all of the expended energy is directed solely to the crushing action. Due to their smaller frames, rolls, and generally lower weight compared to other crushers, they require lower foundation costs.
Another equipment group manufactured by Pennsylvania Crusher is the REVERSIBLE IMPACTOR series. Patented for the first time in 1937, these impact crushers are mainly used when a more cubical-shaped product is desired, and they can achieve a size reduction ratio of up to 35:1. They prevent excessive crushing and grinding, while also requiring half the power compared to hammer mills. When processing moist material, these crushers reduce sticking, coating, and clogging.
The final group of equipment produced by Pennsylvania Crusher is the single-roll crushers. These crushers are used for precise size reduction of medium-hard to hard materials. They perform three different crushing actions simultaneously: Impact, shearing, and compression.
JEFFREY RADER

In 2009, Jeffrey Specialty Equipment and Rader merged to form JEFFREY RADER. Jeffrey, founded in 1877, manufactured the world’s first power-driven coal cutter in the United States. In 1951, Rader became the first company in the world to develop a pneumatic conveying system for wood materials.
As a global leader in material handling and size reduction equipment, systems manufactured by JEFFREY RADER are widely used across the world.
The company’s equipment portfolio includes crushers, wood hogs, pneumatic conveyors, rotary airlocks, screens, and many other types of machinery. These products are frequently used in the mining, wood, and paper industries.
